A Walk In The Black Forrest.

Yesterday morning Yvonne finally found a Waschsalon (laundromat) in Waldshut Tiengen, Germany. She located this establishment with a google search, the first one we have been able to find in a week and a half.
It was the size of a small bedroom in an unmarked shop, in an unlabelled corridor, located in a small cobble stone area with no parks, running of a back alley that ran of another back alley that was connected to a small hidden side road.I think its location must be a German national secret.

It was amazing that google knew where it was & even more amazing that the GPS got us to the front door.
Anyway whilst waiting for our clothes mountain to be washed, we took a walk around the village & it turned out to be a really pretty cobblestone village, with many markets & shops & we came across the
'Brauerei Walter' a beautifully restored building from 1830 (virtually brand new by German standards) so we thought it might be a good place to stay & sure enough the rooms inside were modern large & airy with all mod cons, so we have been based here for 2 nights & enjoying having a good quality home again for a change. (The accomodation in Switzerland was less than ordinary & double the price).
Tiengen is on the edge of the Black Forrest region so today we took a very scenic 38k drive into the Black Forrest town of 'Feldtberg Barental' & from there took a 6k walk through the black Forrest to 'Titisee'
(Lake Titi ) An interesting name & a very beautiful place. The walk was gently downhill on a beautifully maintained track (as you would expect in Germany) a sunny day and 20 degrees. It was easy & enjoyable.

Tip..Don't kill yourself in the heat & difficult tracks of Cinque Terre, come straight to the Black Forrest.

We didn't walk back, after exploring the tourist town of Titisee, we caught the electric train back to Barental.
Germans have some great traits that French & Italians don't have. They are very polite & quick to help you if you look puzzled (which we do a lot). They stick to speed limits religously, right at the speed sign they slow to the correct speed, but when they hit the autobahn & no speed limits, they drive like a mad woman with her arse on fire. They maintain everything & keep it tidy. It seems if you do anything at all in Germany, you do it right. It has been a breath of fresh air coming to this country.
Tomorrow we leave our lovely room (to probably stay in another dump) & head south through Switzerland again to pick up 1 or 2 legs of the Tour De France.

Dogs & bikes are everywhere.

Colourful German cottage gardens.

Many houses are completely covered with solar panels.

Typical large roof in village in snow country.

Note very smooth bitumen bikeway beside the road.
